ERCOT broke another demand record yesterday at 82.6 GW. ERCOT historically over forecasts demand, especially when temperatures reach 100+ degrees. Yesterday was no different.
ERCOT predicted demand to reach 85.8 GW at its peak. But for those that rely on accurate forecasts, that delta can make a huge difference.
On July 18, Amperon's forecasts were
- Nearly 3x more accurate than ERCOT's
- 7x more accurate at peak demand (6:00 p.m.)
- A whopping 15x more accurate during the peak hours of 4-8 p.m.
